We at TS Associates Ltd test to the IEE code of Practice & the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.

What is a Portable Appliance?

Generally this is equipment that has a lead and a plug which can be moved.

TS Associates has a wealth of experience in PAT Testing and Portable Appliance Inspection and all of our personnel are highly trained.

We ensure that all tests are carried out in accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and British Standard Regulations covering the following categories:

• Hand Held Appliance BS2769
• Information Technology Equipment BS7002
• Industrial BS5415

Computers?

Due to the delicate nature of their components and data systems, computer equipment or IT equipment receive a reduced Earth tests. HOWEVER, separate mains leads are tested individually and receive a full earth test along with:

• Full visual inspection
• Remove of plug top
• Check connections
• Replace fuse (if needed)
• Earth continuity test
• Insulation test
• Earth leakage test

In the first year of testing many items FAIL on visual inspection test, the majority because of fuse ratings and wire termination. These faults can be rectified easily on site to enable appliances to PASS their test.

We are more cost effective for your testing requirements than your present 'In-House' arrangement.
